Stronger together

How Solex and Mosman are providing customers with a better solution

CALGARY, Alberta – In August 2019, Solex Thermal Science and Mosman Stainless Steel embarked on new journey forward, together. Combining our respective knowledge, expertise and experience, we sought a way to offer our customers improved access best-in-class solutions for the indirect heating, cooling and drying of free-flowing bulk solids.

Today, our two organizations continue to take important steps in the right direction, singularly focused on tackling the evolving and growing demands in bulk solids thermal exchange and excellence in stainless-steel fabrication.

The integration of the two globally recognized brands through a joint investment by the private equity firm Anders Invest B.V. is providing customers with made-to-order solutions from an integrated producer of bulk solids heat exchange technology, offering more than 150 years of combined experience.

Solex is an established pioneer in bulk solids indirect heat transfer with a lineage that dates back more than 30 years to applications within the fertilizer industry. Today, the company has evolved to offer heating, cooling and drying solutions to a diverse range of additional sectors such as oilseeds, sugar, chemicals, sands and minerals, including more than 600 installations in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Mosman is a worldwide leader in stainless steel with more than 100 years of experience in supplying high-performing, quality solutions to customers across the globe. Its 4,000-square-metre facility offers full production capabilities. This includes state-of-the-art, in-house designed-and-fabricated laser welding machines that are used to produce high-quality and customer-specified pillow plates, as well as a unique slot-manifold-based bulk solids heat exchanger design.

Our combined businesses bring together sales, design, fabrication and technical support under one roof, giving customers a seamless experience that eliminates cumbersome hand-offs, shortens timelines and ensures the solutions promised are the ones provided.

The collaboration maintains our long-standing commitment to offering customers solutions that are built to the highest industry standards. All equipment manufactured at Mosman’s Netherlands-based production facility is ISO 9001 and ISO 3834-2 Certified, as well as PED CAT II, CAT III and, by the end of this year, ASME U-stamp certified – thereby enhancing our reputation for supplying high-quality, low-maintenance solutions that last decades.

Mosman’s facility in Haaksbergen, The Netherlands, also has the advantage of close access to key markets in Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Africa, thereby shortening delivery timelines and providing opportunities for customers to get equipment up and running quickly and safely.

Over the past several months, our combined efforts have already paid immediate dividends. A focused approach that leverages each brand’s respective strengths has resulted in a seamless process from order to fabrication to delivery of more than a dozen bulk solids indirect heat exchangers, with applications ranging from cooling urea, potash, NPK, sugar and detergent to heating rapeseed, linseed and more.
