Solex partners with Austrian university
CALGARY, AB, Canada, Nov. 18, 2024 – Solex Thermal Science thrilled today to jointly announce a collaboration with the Institute of Energy, Transport and Environmental Management at FH JOANNEUM in Graz, Austria that will provide students with practical experience in the thermal treatment of bulk granular solids.
Solex has provided a pilot version of its moving bed heat exchanger wherein students will gain first-hand skills in working with a proven, world-tested technology that is widely used around the world to indirectly heat or cool solids such as fertilizer, oilseeds, sugar, minerals, biosolids and more.
The partnership is aimed at empowering the university to train the next generation of experts in heat exchange technology and, in the future, explore collaborative projects with local industries.
“Solex is thrilled to partner with FH JOANNEUM to support the next generation of working professionals,” says Gerald Marinitsch, Chief Executive Officer of Solex Thermal Science.
“Through hands-on experience and access to industry-leading technology, we’re proud to help equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to advance sustainable thermal treatment solutions.”
The Institute of Energy, Transport and Environmental Management at FH JOANNEUM offers students access to different thermal treatment processes and the ways different installed technologies are used to handle often-critical operations. The Institute’s degree programs is well regarded for providing hands-on experience, bridging theoretical learning in classrooms with practical applications in state-of-the-art labs.
"Collaborations like this enable us to bring highly innovative developments closer to the students,” says Uwe Trattnig, head of the Institute. “It is not a matter of course that companies such as Solex Thermal Science support the University of Applied Sciences in this way. We would like to thank you very much for that!"
