An intro to bean heater modules

Conditioning of soy beans is a critical yet energy-intensive process in achieving target efficiency in oil extraction plants. It is also a good heat sink for utilizing waste heat from the rest of the plant. Solex indirect plate heat exchangers provide high density of heat transfer area within a compact design that allows for very efficient utilization of the recovered energy.

Procedure for cleaning exchanger plate interior

Heat exchangers can suffer from fouling caused by microorganisms, deposition of solids or scaling from calcium found in the water passed through the plates. Fouling can decrease thermal efficiency and increase pressure drop, both of which can negatively impact plant operations. Here, we provide tips on a fast, environmentally friendly cleaning procedure.
