Solids Matter - Winter 2021
Focusing on the 'good'
The turnover from one year to the next brings a refreshed outlook and renewed optimism for what the year ahead will bring. Despite the pressure of our collective need to monitor and safeguard against the spread of COVID-19, there is lots of good going on out there.
Since the very beginning, Solex has been committed to using our technology to bring about change. Our goal is to help our customers produce a better product at less expense to them and the environment. Now with more than 800 installations around the world, our technology has heated, cooled and dried more than 1.5 billion tonnes of products. This has collectively saved our customers more than $1.0 billion US in energy costs and reduced carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 6.1 million tonnes — the yearly equivalent of emissions produced by almost 1.3 million cars.
Our commitment to change does not end with our technology. At our fabrication facility in Haaksbergen, The Netherlands, we have equipped the building with high-efficiency insulation, LED lighting, low-temperature floor heating and 1,250 roof mounted solar panels. This is estimated to save more than 315 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually — the equivalent of more than 16,000 trees planted!
We continue to be inspired by change as we look ahead to what 2021 holds in store for us. In this edition of Solids Matter, we look forward to sharing some of what we have been working on. Please enjoy!
