Can Solex units recover waste heat?
Yes. Solex units allow for the capture and re-use of low-grade energy that is otherwise wasted or not economical to recover — most notably during the processing of oilseeds such as soybean, rapeseed and canola.
By offering a much larger heat transfer surface area compared to traditional technologies in a compact design, our technology can accommodate the utilization of low-grade waste heat including steam, condensate or hot water.
Additional considerations:
- Different process conditions will influence the heat recovery potential.
- Carbon taxes will vary between regions, thereby impacting the attractiveness of heat recovery projects.
- Capacity increases can make investments into heat recovery more attractive.
- Existing equipment can influence the final heat recovery solution.
