Energy Recovery

Solex SIGMA Series Coolers remove heat from bulk materials indirectly with water. When hot bulk solids materials are cooled in the Solex cooler the heat that is transferred to the water produces hot water or steam that can be used elsewhere in a facility.

Due to the fact that the Solex cooler is capable of cooling large volumes of very high temperature bulk solid materials (up to 1000°C) the cooler can recover a significant quantity of heat in the form of hot water or steam.

The Solex heat exchanger recovers energy either from exhaust gas or from hot solids to preheat combustion air, etc. The Solex ALPHA series heater can also be used to recover waste heat available elsewhere in a facility and use that energy to heat a bulk material.
